Relationship Therapy for Nontraditional Lives
Sex-positive therapy for couples, individuals, and relationship systems of all kinds.
Like the wolf, the healthy relationship is neither tame nor dangerous — it is alive.
For all styles of relationships navigating intimacy, consent, conflict, hierarchy, desire, money, autonomy, attachment, and repair.
I offer therapy for the full ecology of intimacy — sex, yes, and also relationships, attachment, power, money, consent, repair, and the agreements with self and others that shape a life.
People often find me when relationships need renegotiation. When money and power are shaping intimacy. When consent has gone grey, or when shame or secrecy is taking up space within dynamics that belongs to desire.
This practice is a home for anyone whose body has learned to brace, comply, dissociate, or intellectualize intimacy — and for those who want the relationship to their own experience to change. I welcome all styles of relating; LGBTQIA+ folks, kink and leather communities, couples and constellations of all configurations, open relationships, non-open relationships, people in devotion to or recovery from spiritual communities, and those integrating psychedelic experience.
My practice is deeply informed by anti-racism, indigenous sovereignty, sex worker rights, queer liberation, and harm reduction.
I offer Somatic and Attachment-Focused therapy grounded in Womanist, Jungian, and Transpersonal Psychology. My primary modalities for relational work are Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy.
I offer in-person sessions in Arcata, CA, telehealth throughout California, and relationship coaching and consultation internationally for those beyond California's borders.
Frequent Areas of Focus
Desire discrepancy and mismatched libido
Open relationships, ethical non-monogamy, and polyamory — opening, structuring, and renegotiating relational agreements
Kink, BDSM, and power exchange in relationships
Infidelity, betrayal, and the long work of repair
Discernment — when one or both people are uncertain whether to stay
Relationship transition — closing, restructuring, conscious uncoupling
Sex therapy for couples and constellations — arousal, avoidance, desire, and pleasure
Polyamorous configurations navigating jealousy, hierarchy, and relational agreements
Relationships shaped by religious orthodoxy or purity culture
Couples navigating a partner's gender transition
Relationships with a sex worker partner
Coparenting structures with former partners
Relationships with significant geographic complexity — long distance, cross-state, international
Money, power, and resource dynamics within relationships
A significant part of the work I do lives at the intersection of money, sex, and power — because in most relationships, these are not separate territories.
Who earns what. Who pays for what. Who holds leverage and who feels indebted. The erotics of financial dependency. The power dynamics inside professional relationships that spill into personal ones. The specific complexity that sex workers, executives, artists, and anyone whose livelihood is entangled with their body or their relational identity navigates every day.
Your Questions, Answered

-
Yes. I work with couples navigating every stage of ethical non-monogamy — from first conversations to established configurations navigating specific dynamics, and repair when agreements break down. I support couples considering opening up, and clients years into relationships, renegotiating ongoing polyamorous dynamics.

-
Yes. I am highly kink-aware; I am listed with Kink Aware Professionals (KAP) and am a consultant for TASHRA, dedicated to the mental and physical health of adults who participate in Kink/BDSM. I work with individuals and couples for whom power exchange, BDSM, or kink are part of their relational identity, physical practice, or professional identity.

-
Yes, depending on what kind of support you are seeking. Psychotherapy is available only when you are located in California at the time of session. Absolutely. The full range of relationship experience — desire, conflict, infidelity, communication, sex, money, power, transition — shows up in all relationships. Many of my clients are in traditional partnerships navigating the same human challenges we all face.
